In a world of 4K perfection, Super 8 is the rebellious cousin. It was the home video format of the 60s and 70s. It’s grainy. It goes in and out of focus. It has light leaks and scratches.
And that is exactly why we love it.
We don't use an "App" or a digital filter to fake this look. We shoot on authentic vintage cameras using real cartridges of Kodak Motion Picture Film (usually 50D for sunlight or 500T for indoors).
The result is a video that feels like a memory. It feels like a dream sequence. It has a warmth and a soul that digital cameras — for all their megapixels — just cannot replicate. It’s timeless. It looks as good today as it did in 1975, and it will look just as cool in 2055.

Why does Super 8 fit our brand so well? Because La Dolce Vita is about feeling, not perfection.
Super 8 captures the feeling.
The Grain
The physical texture of the film makes everything look softer and more romantic.
The Motion
It shoots at 18 frames per second (digital is 24 or 60). This gives the movement a slightly jerky, energetic cadence that feels fun and "alive."
The Colours
Kodak film has a specific colour science. The reds pop, the greens are lush, and the skin tones look incredible.

Most of our couples choose a Hybrid Package. We don't shoot the entire wedding on Super 8 (although we can!). We mix it with modern digital footage.
Digital (The Safety Net)
We use our 4K cameras for the Ceremony Vows and the Speeches. Why? Because Super 8 cameras are loud (they can make a mechanical whirring sound). You want crystal clear audio for your vows.
Super 8 (The Vibe)
We use the film camera for the "in-between" moments.
The confetti throw.
The portrait session at sunset.
The champagne spray.
The wild dancing at 10 PM.
We then edit these two formats together. You get the crisp audio and reliability of digital, intercut with the nostalgic, artistic flashes of Super 8. It’s the ultimate cool wedding video.
Shooting film is an art form. There is no screen on the back of the camera. We can't "check the shot." We have to know the light, trust our meters, and trust our gut. And that is exactly why we love it.
The Workflow

Shooting
We burn through 3-5 rolls of film on your day. Each roll is only 3 minutes long, so we are selective. We only shoot the magic.

Developing
We physically take the film rolls to a specialist lab. The lab uses chemicals to develop the negative.

Scanning
They use a high-end laser scanner to turn that physical film into a 4K digital file.

Editing
We receive the files and grade them to match your digital footage.

A dedicated multi-cam film of every toast and roast, audio-mastered so you never lose a joke.

Your personal paparazzi capturing hundreds of raw, unedited moments for your Instagram Story within 24 hours.

We pack our bags and bring the Aussie energy to your epic celebration in Europe or beyond.

A fast-paced, music-driven 3–5 minute edit that captures the party, the tears, and the vibe without the fluff.
No. Super 8 is a silent format. We overlay the footage with music or audio recorded on our digital recorders.
Film is physical. There is always a tiny risk of a jam or a lab issue (less than 1%). That is why we shoot Hybrid. We always have a digital backup of the key moments.
Film stock is expensive. Developing is expensive. That is why Super 8 is an "Add-On" or a premium package. You are paying for the physical product and the specialist handling.
Yes! We can produce a "Music Video" style film shot entirely on Super 8. It won't have speech audio, but it will be a 3-minute artistic masterpiece set to a killer track.
