Drone Wedding Videography Sydney & Italy

See your day from a higher perspective.

THE PERSPECTIVE

Why Add Drone Footage?

Your wedding venue is likely one of the biggest investments of your day. You chose it for the view, the landscape, or the architecture.

Ground-level cameras capture the
people, but only a drone can capture the place.

At Dolce Vita Films, we use drone cinematography to establish the scene.

  • The Scale:

Seeing your tiny figures against the massive cliffs of the Dolomites.

  • The Context:

Seeing the Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge in the background of your venue.

  • The Drama:

A slow, cinematic flyover as you walk out of the church.

It adds a "Hollywood" production value to your film that ground cameras simply cannot match.

OUR APPROACH

Cinematic - Not Annoying

We have all heard the angry buzzing of a cheap drone interrupting a quiet ceremony.

We don't do that.

We fly with intention.

Discrete:

We use the latest drones which are quieter and smaller.

Timing:

We don't fly during your vows. We fly before the ceremony (for establishing shots) and during the portrait session (when you are far away). We respect the silence of the moment.

The Shot:

We don't just fly up and look down. We use "Parallax" moves, reveal shots, and tracking shots. We fly like cinematographers, not like hobbyists.

LOCATION SPECIFICS

Where Can We Fly?

In Sydney (Australia)

Sydney has strict airspace laws due to the Airport and the Harbour.

  • Palm Beach / Northern Beaches:

    Generally YES. Epic ocean shots.

  • Hunter Valley / Southern Highlands:

YES. Perfect for sweeping vineyard shots.

  • Sydney Harbour (CBD):

STRICTLY RESTRICTED. We cannot fly within 5.5km of the airport or over populous areas without special permits. If your wedding is at the Opera House, we likely cannot fly, but we can use telephoto lenses to get a similar compression effect.

In The Dolomites (Italy)

  • Tre Cime / National Parks:

Some areas are "No Fly Zones" to protect wildlife.

  • Lago di Braies / Seceda:

    Often allowed with caution.

  • Private Villas (Lake Como):

    Usually allowed with venue permission.

Note: We check the EASA (European) maps for every single wedding to ensure we are legal.

WEATHER SAFETY

The "Nature" Factor

Drones are aircraft. They are at the mercy of the weather.

We will NOT fly if:

It is raining (even light rain can short-circuit the drone).

The wind is over 30km/h (it becomes dangerous).

There are birds attacking (Magpie season in Australia is real!).

Safety is our #1 priority. If we can't fly, we don't charge you for it (or we refund the drone portion if it was an add-on).
