Planning a wedding in Italy is a dream. The food, the history, the wine. But capturing it requires more than just a camera - it requires local knowledge.
We are Dolce Vita Films. We split our year between Australia and Northern Italy, specialising in weddings across the Dolomites, Lake Como, and the historic cities of the North.
Because we are a fully bilingual team (fluent in English and Italian), we bridge the gap between your vision and the local reality. We chat with your Italian venue coordinator, we joke with the drivers, and we know exactly how to order a coffee on set without getting a weird look.

Planning a wedding in the Dolomites isn't just about booking a venue; it's about understanding the rhythm of the Italian mountains. One of the biggest challenges our couples face is timing.
In the valleys of Val Gardena, the sun can dip behind a peak at 4 PM, changing the light instantly. This is where our local knowledge wins.
We don't just turn up; we plan your shoot around the geography.
We know which Rifugios (mountain huts) are accessible by jeep and which need a cable car.
We know the local ZTL zones (Restricted Traffic Zones) in cities like Verona so we don't get fined.
We know the drone regulations for the National Parks (and they are strict).
You don't need to worry about translating or logistics; you just need to worry about soaking in the view. We handle the chaos so you can live the Dolce Vita.
We focus on the dramatic landscapes of the North
Cortina d'Ampezzo, Val Gardena, Lago di Braies, Seceda.
This is our playground. If you want jagged peaks, alpine lakes, and wooden mountain huts, this is the place. We specialise in "Adventure Elopements" here — hiking up before dawn to say your vows as the sun hits the limestone peaks.
Best time to shoot: June to September (wildflowers) or December (snow).
Bellagio, Villa del Balbianello, Malcesine.
The classic Italian luxury vibe. Speedboats, historic villas, and Aperol Spritz by the water. We know how to film on the boats to get that cinematic "James Bond" feeling without the footage being shaky.
Vibe: High-end, glamorous, polished.

The Cities of Love.
Venice is magic, but it is a logistical maze. You can't just catch a taxi. We know how to navigate the canals with camera gear. We know the quiet alleyways away from the tourists where you can have an intimate moment.
Vibe: Romantic, historic, architectural.

While we are based in the North, we absolutely travel south for the right wedding. Who says no to Tuscany?
Note: We charge simple flat-rate travel fees for regions outside the North.
Two ways to do Italy
You bring 50–100 of your favourite people to a Villa. It’s a multi-day affair. A welcome pizza party on Friday, the wedding on Saturday, and a recovery pool party on Sunday.
Our approach: We recommend our Multi-Day Package for this. We capture the whole weekend, so the film feels like a complete holiday movie.

Just you two (and maybe two witnesses). We hike into the mountains or find a quiet spot by the lake. It’s intimate, emotional, and stress-free.
Our approach: We act as your guides as well as your videographers. We help you find the spot and plan the timeline.

Parliamo Italiano
Why does it matter that we speak the language?
Speaking 5 languages fluently helps keep communication simple and everyone at ease.
Respect
Italian vendors work better when they can communicate freely. We build rapport instantly.
Access
We can talk our way into locations that might otherwise be closed.
Comfort
If you have Italian relatives attending, we can interview them in their native tongue for your video. It adds a beautiful layer of heritage to your film.

Intimate, adventurous films for couples who want to escape the noise and focus purely on the vows.

From the welcome spritz to the recovery pool party, we capture the complete weekend festival of you.

We hide in the bushes (literally) to capture the exact split-second reaction when you drop to one knee.

Essential for the Dolomites. You need to see the scale of the mountains.
No! We spend a big chunk of the European summer in Italy. Check with us for our travel dates. If we are already in the region, you just pay for our local travel (train/car) and accommodation. If we fly specifically for you, we split the cost.
It depends. Some areas (like Tre Cime) are National Parks with strict no-fly zones. Other areas are fine. We know the area, so we won't get you in trouble.
Yes, please! Italian weddings often have long dinners (3+ hours). We need to be in the same room as you to capture the spontaneous speeches, toasts, and "Evviva!" moments. If we are put in a separate room, we might miss the action.
We love using Italian tracks to set the scene (think classic 60s pop or cinematic instrumentals). However, copyright is strict. We source licensed Italian-style music from professional libraries so you can share your video online without it being blocked.
The Italian weather can be unpredictable, especially in the mountains. We embrace it. Wet cobblestones look amazing on camera, and moody clouds over the Dolomites are more cinematic than blue skies. We have weather-sealed gear, so we keep shooting while you stay dry.
No. If we arrive two days early to scout locations or get over jet lag, you don't pay for our "downtime." You only pay for the coverage days (e.g., Welcome Pizza, Wedding Day). We cover our own food and expenses on the non-shooting days.
Let’s plan the adventure.
