Multi-Day Wedding Videography

One day isn't enough

THE WEEKEND EXPERIENCE

Weddings Have Changed

The wedding has evolved. It’s no longer just "The Big Day."

Especially if you are planning a destination wedding in Italy or a weekend getaway in the Hunter Valley, you aren't just inviting people for a ceremony and a meal. You are inviting them for an experience.

You have the Welcome Pizza Night on Friday to break the ice. You have the Ceremony and Reception on Saturday. You have the Recovery Brunch or Pool Party on Sunday to debrief the chaos.

It is a 3-day festival of you.

If you only hire a videographer for the Saturday, you are missing 66% of the story. The wedding day itself is often formal, structured, and flies by in a blur. The days around it are relaxed, hilarious, and often where the real bonding happens.

At Dolce Vita Films, we specialise in Multi-Day Coverage. We don't just parachute in for the vows; we embed ourselves with your crew. By the time the wedding morning comes, your guests already know us. We aren't "the videographers" anymore; we are just friends with cameras. This leads to significantly more candid, natural footage when it matters most.

THE ITINERARY

What We Cover

What does a weekend look like on film? When we edit a Multi-Day Film, the narrative structure changes. It becomes less like a music video and more like a documentary series or a travel film. Here is how we typically break down the coverage:

Day 1: The Welcome Event

Usually a casual dinner or cocktail hour.

The Vibe:

Hugs. Reunions. "I haven't seen you in years!"

This is the prologue to your story. Everyone is arriving. They are fresh. They are excited. The outfit choices are "smart casual chic."

What We Capture:

The arrival of guests at the venue (the "Wow" moment).

The casual toasts (often more heartfelt and less rehearsed than the formal speeches).

The sunset drinks.

Why it matters:

It sets the scene. It establishes the location before the madness of the wedding day takes over.

Day 2: The Main Event

The Wedding Day.

The Vibe:

Emotion. Adrenaline. Party.

This is the core of the film. We cover it with our full cinematic energy. Prep, Ceremony, Portraits, Reception.

What We Capture:

Everything. (See our Highlight Film page for details).

The Difference:

Because we filmed the night before, your guests are already comfortable with us. They don't hide from the camera. They play up to it.

Day 3: The Recovery

Brunch, BBQ, Beach Club, or Pool Party.

The Vibe:

Sunglasses. Hangovers. Debriefing.

This is often the most fun footage to edit. The ties are off. The makeup is minimal. People are jumping in the pool.

What We Capture:

  • The "morning after" debriefs.

  • The bomb dives into the pool.

  • The bloody marys.

  • The departure hugs.

Why it matters:

It provides the perfect "Epilogue." It grounds the high emotion of the wedding day back into reality. It shows that even after the formal part is over, the love (and the fun) continues.

WHY BOOK MULTI-DAY?

The Story Telling Advantage

Why is more footage better?

You might think, "I don't need a video of people eating pizza."

But film is about contrast.

When we edit a film from a 3-day event, we have so much more emotional depth to play with.

  • We can cut from the nervous groom having a beer at the Welcome Drinks to the crying groom at the altar 24 hours later.

  • We can cut from the pristine, elegant reception dinner to the chaotic, splashing pool party the next day.

  • We can overlay the audio from a casual toast on Friday night over the visuals of the Sunday brunch.

It makes the film feel fuller. It captures the relationships, not just the event. It shows why these people flew halfway across the world for you.

PRICING STRUCTURE

DESTINATION LOGISTICS

Essential for Italy & Europe.

If you are getting married in The Dolomites, Lake Como, or Tuscany, Multi-Day coverage isn't really an "optional extra" — it’s almost a necessity.

The "Travel Film" Aspect

When you do a destination wedding, the location is a main character.

With extra days, we have time to capture the B-Roll of the area. The local village. The misty mountains in the morning. The boat rides.

On the wedding day, we are often too busy with the timeline to go off and film a 3-hour timelapse of the clouds. On Day 1 or Day 3, we have the freedom to capture the cinematic beauty of Italy that you paid for.

The "Sunk Cost" Logic

You have likely already paid for our travel (flights/accommodation) to get to Italy.

Why fly us all the way there just to work for 8 hours?

Adding extra days of coverage is surprisingly affordable because the biggest expense (getting us there) is already covered. You are just paying for our time on the ground.

PRICING STRUCTURE

How It Works

How we charge for weekends. You don't pay "triple" for a 3-day wedding. We understand that the Welcome and Recovery parties don't need the same intensity as the wedding day.

Our Custom Weekend Approach

The Wedding Day:

Full crew (2 shooters), full gear, 10-12 hours.

The Add-On Days:

Scaled down. Often just 1 shooter. Handheld cameras (less gear to set up). shorter hours (2–4 hours per event).

We package this into a "Weekend Rate" that gives you massive value. We are already there, we might as well hold a camera!

The Legacy

The "Friends" Movie

Years from now, you will look back at your wedding photos and see how young and beautiful you looked. But when you watch your Multi-Day Film, you will see your friends. You will see the way your best mate laughs when he is relaxed by the pool. You will see your dad holding court at the pizza bar. You will see the in-between moments that photos miss.

It’s the ultimate souvenir of the best holiday of your life.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

You Asked - We Answered

Do we need to feed you for 3 days?

Generally, yes. If we are shooting during a meal time (like a Welcome Dinner), we appreciate a plate. It doesn't have to be the full guest meal; a vendor meal or a pizza is totally fine.

Can you edit separate films for each day?

Yes. We can produce a "Welcome Party Edit" (1 min) and a "Wedding Edit" (5 min). However, we usually recommend blending it all into one epic "Wedding Weekend Feature Film" (15-20 mins) that weaves the whole story together chronologically.

What if we don't have a structured event on Day 3?

That’s fine! Sometimes the best footage is just you two exploring the local town or having breakfast. We can turn Day 3 into a "Couple’s Session" instead of an event coverage.

Do you drink with us?

We are professionals, so we don't get drunk while working. But at the Welcome Party, having a glass of wine with you helps us blend in and makes your guests feel comfortable around the cameras. We match the energy of the room.
